Benjamin’s Book Journal began as a database to store and organize notes and references gained from books that I’ve read. The journal was made public in 2016 to allow others to access the references and information as well as to help provide ideas to others for books and topics to add to their own reading lists.

The notes and references represent both opposing and complementary positions in topics ranging from history, religion, politics, culture, business, and others, reflecting Benjamin’s Book Journal’s value placed on the importance to:

“Read both sides.”

While each excerpt and quote collected in the journal represents some meaning or importance to Benjamin, no particular book selection and/or excerpt should be taken as a complete reflection or indication as an official stance or belief of Benjamin’s Book Journal. The information is simply collected as a valuable or potentially valuable note to be able to potentially reference to in the future.

Reading allows for one to truly hear an others clearly presented perspective without interruption, which then allows the reader to better understand the others perspective whether agreeable or disagreeable reflecting Benjamin’s mantra of:

“Reading allows one to gain external perspective.
The more perspectives one collects, the broader one’s understanding.”
